Friends of Topsmead Updates

Message from Carol Gould, President of the Board:

We've been busy! The Board worked up a strategic plan for the coming 5 years. Along with this, we identified key projects and programs we want to get underway right now and complete this year.On behalf of the FTSF, we identified the prime 2019 projects as including:

- Establishing a Welcome Center in the former garage
- Completing a handicap access plan including installing 
railings near the cottage 
- Butterfly garden restoration
- Developing an education curriculum for 
elementary/high school students
- Trail maintenance and new signage

We expect to coordinate closely with the State Forester for Topsmead on each project. We also hope to host an Earth Day event in April at Topsmead. We'd love to see you there and will keep you posted about plans for that as we go along.

There will be many opportunities for you to get involved in each project! We'll send out periodic calls for volunteers. If you have a desire to get active with one of these projects right now, we'd welcome your involvement. Contact me here.
